PNG keeps every pixel perfectly and supports transparency, which makes it large — sometimes many times bigger than it needs to be for a photo. When a PNG is actually a photograph (a screenshot of a picture, an exported image), converting to JPG can shrink it dramatically with no visible difference, because JPG is built for photographic content. This is one of the quickest ways to cut the size of a heavy PNG before emailing or uploading it.
PNG 完美保留每个像素并支持透明，因此体积偏大——对照片而言有时大出好几倍。当一张 PNG 其实是照片时（截下来的图片、导出的影像），转成 JPG 能在看不出差别的情况下大幅缩小，因为 JPG 正是为照片内容设计的。这是把笨重 PNG 在发邮件或上传前快速瘦身的最有效办法之一。
Watch out for transparency / 注意透明背景
Because JPG can't store transparency, any see-through areas become a solid color (white by default). That's fine for photos but not for logos or icons meant to sit on colored backgrounds — keep those as PNG or convert to WebP instead. For flat graphics with sharp edges and few colors, JPG can also look blocky, so PNG/WebP is the better pick there.
由于 JPG 无法保存透明，任何透明区域都会变成纯色（默认白色）。这对照片没问题，但对要放在彩色背景上的 logo 或图标就不行——那些请保留 PNG 或改转 WebP。对边缘锐利、颜色不多的扁平图形，JPG 还可能出现块状感，此时 PNG/WebP 更合适。
